Passports

We're going to get our passport pictures and turn in our applications tonight.
I'm so excited for our trip to Montego Bay, I can't wait to relax and enjoy the heat.

For our anniversary we're staying at a Sandals resort in Jamaica, there is so much fun stuff to do I hope we can fit it all in. Not only do we have our whole resort to roam, but we have access to two other resorts and the one we are staying at has a private island right off the coast. We have a room with a view on the ocean, it's just right behind the pool which meets the sand. They have so many activities available and fun themed parties at night and best of all it's all-inclusive.

5 1/2 months to go...

Something a little different

Lastnight Corey wasn't going to be home so I went and tanned and on my way home he called and said he was at the shooting range and would be leaving. So while I'm waiting for him I'm folding laundry and Andrea & Oliver show up, we hung out at the house a little and then went to Mi Casa for dinner. After Mi Casa we met Big John at Goathill, everyone was so surprised to see me out on a worknight and it was really fun.

I think the 4 of us are going to go to Disneyland next Monday. How fun!

Monday Blues

I don't particularly like Mondays.

I really hate waking up Monday mornings and leaving for work while my husband gets to stay in bed. I've started to realize how much time we don't get to spend together and it's starting to bother me. It sounds ridiculous to say we don't spend much time together but it's true. The only day we have is Sundays and lately we've been so busy with family stuff we don't really get to spend that quality time together. This weekend Corey had to work Friday and Saturday 7am-4pm then both nights again from 9pm-3am. I don't even know how he functioned yesterday. I tried to stay up Saturday night and wait for him to get off but that didn't work.

I went through a lot of stuff lastnight and threw away 2 bags full of random useless things collected on my bookshelf. It feels refreshing to get the clutter out. I also organized half the closet...my half. Hopefully tonight I can start on the office. That is a project I'm not looking forward to.

Our House

We were very busy this weekend cleaning house. Our garage looks amazing and we still have some boxes to get rid of and things for Goodwill. I finally hung all our wedding photos up and and our 2 new chairs will be arriving this weekend. The bathroom looks great with the new colors we've gone with and I will be hanging the artwork tonight. We still have a lot to do in the bedroom and office, I'm so over those 2 rooms, I need to go in and throw a bunch of stuff away.
Hopefully I'll be motivated and get a lot done tonight after work.

Valentine

We found a dog outside of work today, his name is Zero. We called his owner and she's on her way to pick him up and we decided to call him Valentine since no one here likes the name zero. He's a chihuhua beagle mix and is a sweetheart. We're not sure how he got here, his owner lives over 5 miles away and we work in a completely commercial area by the airport. No matter which way he took to end up here he would have had to travel on large streets and it's been raining today so he's a very lucky little guy.

Happy Valentine's Day!

6 Months!

Though I have no doubts Corey and I will be together forever in this day and age a marriage lasting more then a few months seems rare.
Even though it's nothing to celebrate I'm still excited about it.

I just got flowers delivered to my work, Corey is such a sweetie...

Grandparents

Corey and I have both lost our grandpa's, his past away about 7 years ago, mine a year ago. Our grandpa's each played huge roles in our upbringings. Corey adored his grandpa, I love hearing the stories about all the fun they used to have with each other. One of my favorite stories is when Corey was younger, because of different cable company's Louise would watch Jeopardy before it would air at Corey's house and call Corey with the question to the last answer. No one could ever figure out how Corey at 9 years old would get the answer right everytime.

My grandpa, Papa, loved life. He was raised in New York with a very unfortunate childhood, his aunt let him live in the basement and finally when he was 16 or 17 he joined the Army, he had to lie about his age and find a way out to California. Eventually he met my grandma at a dance and the rest is history. For someone who didn't grow up with much love in his household it was amazing how with a single look he could let you know how much he loved you and make you feel like the most important person in the world. He had such a passion to show us what the world has to offer.

Our grandma's are completely opposite.
Tish, Corey's grandma, or mom as he calls her is a little spit fire. She has the mouth of a sailor and isn't afraid to tell it how she see's it. We both love how honest she is. Nana, my grandma is devoted to the Catholic church and keeps herself busy with playing Bunco, Texas Hold'em and Bridge with different groups.

Neither of us have much contact with our dad's parents. In fact I haven't seen any part of my dads family since we moved back to California when I was in the 4th grade. To be honest I don't remember much about them and don't know if I will ever see them again.

Starting out

We're a small family of 2, Corey and I. We've been married for 6 months, we were engaged for a year and a half and we've been together for 9 1/2 years. Junior high sweethearts, I think that's the first time I've never put it like and and it sounds weird!
We're very lucky to have 2 great families with an abundance of unconditional love and support. We have 2 beautiful nieces, Alyssa who is 2 and Jayden who was born 13 days ago. They are two of the most adorable little girls in the world.

Corey and I spend a lot of time with our families when we aren't working. Corey's been working for a tow truck company for 4 years now, he recently became a driver and comes home with lots of interesting stories. I work for 3 companies doing accounting, it's not my life's calling, but it pays the bills. We live in Costa Mesa in a small 2 bedroom house, it's a work in progress and we'll probably stay here till we buy a place. We live 1 block from Corey's parents and 15 minutes away from my parents, I hope we can always stay close.

For now it's just the 2 of us, but hopefully that will be changing in the next few years. We have no plans in the immediate future to have children...but one day.

So here it starts...our journey.
