Who says California has no weather?

I'm not sure who came up with the thought that California has no weather, but that just isn't the case. I realize we don't have blistering cold winters and summers too hot to handle, but we have weather. For example, this weekend!

Friday I went out with Diana, we try to get together every few months. We started at Claim Jumper and had the best Spinach Dip I've ever had, we had a drink each and then continued on to the Goat. I knew Michelle and the girls would be there so we meet up with them had ourselves a few drinks and then I saw a friend I haven't seen from high school. I've wondered about her for years so it was great to see her, we've exchanged numbers and of course emailed a few times on myspace. It was so hot in the bar we called it a night at about 12:30 and Corey taxi'd us home.

Saturday it was hot, I spent the day at the farmers market, getting a mani/pedi with Nichole and then helping Danielle and the girls get ready for prom. I think it was about 94 Saturday and that was very apparant when 5 of us were trying to do hair and make-up in a bathroom. We took Zoey to my parents cause I didn't want to leave her at home for hours while I did make-up and then we bbq'd with my parents. We were hoping that she and my parents black lab, Lady would get along but Zoey just couldn't. Poor Lady was so well behaved and all she wanted to do was check Zoey out and play, Zoey however spent the whole time freaking out, barking and yelling. :( When Sunday hit 99 we went to Kelly & Shauna's to go to the pool, we got to sit in the shade and though the water was way to cold to actually swim it was really nice to just stick our feet in. Alyssa was freezing and only spent a few minutes in the pool before the cold got the best of her. Jayden was enjoying being outside and she would kick her legs up so fast when Shauna would dip her toes in the water. We went to the in-laws house Sunday night for pizza and by then it was much cooler.

Now today...it's 60 and dare I say a little chilly out. I'm not complaining, but saying California has no weather is just wrong!

Every 15 Minutes

I'm so proud of my younger sister Danielle.

One of her paintings was chosen to be displayed in an art show in down town Huntington. I'm so excited for her and can't wait to go check it out tonight.

She's also participating in her school's "Every 15 Minutes" 2-day assembly about drunk drivers. To sumarize, every 15 minutes someone is killed by a drunk driver and the local high schools got together with a company which educates students about drunk driving. My sister applied and was chosen to be a student involved in the production of it all. Tomorrow my parents will get visited by the police at their home, they will be informed that my sister has been killed by a drunk driver. At school Danielle will be taken out of class by the grim reaper and her orbituary with a picture will be displayed in that classroom all day. She will continue school that day but will be dressed all in black and can't speak to anyone. Tomorrow night she will stay at a hotel with counselors and get to talk about everything they are experiencing. Friday there will be a mock car accident and assembly.
This is a very traumatic experience for my family even though it isn't real, but we are all proud of her for even wanting to be a part of this. I hope the students really take away all this program is trying to offer them.

I'll post pictures when available.

Sydney Newhouse

Our friends Chandra & Jesse Newhouse welcomed their little girl on Sunday night. We went and saw her Monday and she is absolutely beautiful.
She is a tiny little thing at 5.9 lbs and 17 inches. She is in great health and they should be getting to go home Thursday.

YAY!

Zoey

So I've talked a little bit about the new addition to our family...Zoey. I haven't posted any pictures up until now so here you go. This picture was taken only a few days after we got her. She's such a spunky little thing and is Daddy's little girl.

Here is Zoey and Corey BBQ'ing last weekend.

This is Zoey's tough face, she shows her teeth as though they could do so much damage.

She is the perfect size for our house and backyard. Being 5 she's pretty set in her ways but I think we've all done a really great job of adjusting. Last week we took her over to Corey's parents and Alyssa was there, they quickly became friends and we're playing in Alyssa's toy room and playing outside together. I didn't get pictures of that but I will be better prepared next time.

April Already?

I can't believe today is the 4th of April. The years always seem to go buy quicker and this is no exception.

Our trip is only 4 months away now! Yay!

This last weekend was busy as ever and this week has been crazy, I look forward to not doing much of anything this weekend. I think I've convinced Corey it's a good idea to stay at home tonight and get to bed early. Tomorrow I have to take Danielle prom dress shopping and then tomorrow night we are going to Long Beach for dinner and drinks for Jason's Birthday. Sunday hopefully we'll stay at home and give Zoey a bath.

I went to dinner with Nichole and Sarah lastnight, we had fun and got some shopping in.

Corey and I haven't seen each other for more then an hour other then sleeping in the past week. I miss him!
